I know this post is a long shot, but I'm in search of a rundown homestead to fix up and call my 'retirement place'. A residence doesn't even need to be currently livable, but we are hoping to find a place where at least some of the buildings can be salvaged and repaired. We'd like 10+ acres with most in tillable or mature trees hopefully.

If you have or know of someone who is sitting an old farm site (or an abandoned one?) that would be willing to sell, please let us know. Depending on price, we might be able to do a cash deal. Or maybe a Contract for Deed if the acreage is bigger? I don’t have deep pockets and I’m not a coop, nor am I a foreigner looking to snap up U.S. farmland. I just want a piece of peace and quiet to call my own.
Please send me an email if you might have something for us. (Picture is from the 'net and is for an example purposes of what I'm willing to work with!)
p.s. I like to target practice and throw clays every once in a while, so noise-sensitive neighbors might not work well with me.
